But Fuentes also gives us an insight into the force of Mexican life and culture, and how it has been able to survive in spite of the injustice and corruption in Mexico that have caused so many to seek to immigrate.

About the Author
The author of more than a dozen novels and story collections, Carlos Fuentes (1928-2012) was Mexico's most celebrated novelist and critic. He received numerous honors and awards throughout his lifetime, including the Miguel de Cervantes Prize and the Latin Literary Prize.

Una vez mas Carlos Fuentes nos narra historias que nos hacen reflexionar sobre la complicada y necesaria relación entre EEUU y México. Un libro difícil de poner a un lado con relatos a veces tristes y a veces divertidos pero que, sobre todo, nos hacen darnos cuenta de una realidad que muchas veces preferimos ignorar. Un libro verdaderamente al estilo Carlos Fuentes.
