Very useful, but don't be dissuaded

Great book - the authors give a good, frank assessment of MBA odds for a pretty wide variety of profiles. Their analysis can help you find which schools you should shoot for, but every candidate is different so try to take the analysis with a grain of salt. The authors mention this at the beginning of the book, but it can be easy to forget.

Mixed feelings? I'm not sure.

Well, I'm not sure what to say about this book since the author's measurements is sometimes doubtful to me, and I just really don't know how accurate his predictions are. However, I bought this book just based on his credential and it's quite entertaining.
Overall, the book does just like what the author usually does on the website 'Poets and Quants'. It gave me good ideas about how should I evaluate my chance to get into a top MBA program, and whether there is a way to improve my chances comparing to other candidates. Still, I recognize that this whole book is created on a person's perspective alone. It signifies just a person's point of view. So I guess it's really up to your judgement then. Go visit the website to see some samples of his works (and note that a lot of his free works do appeared in the book, too, around 40-50%? or more?), and decide whether his opinions worth your money or not. But for me, it'd very well broadened my perspective yet may be a little expensive so far.

Alum, do lots of b school interviewing,,,entertaining and good framework for sorting out current playing field...funny read too, even if sometimes well over top.
